Easy Bake Ovens
I do not have any daughters. I have 3 sons. Needless to say, an easy bake oven never made it on a Christmas list in our house. Or did it?
Our youngest son actually asked for an easy bake oven one year.
He has a lot of friends with sisters and got into baking in the easy bake oven when he was playing at their houses. Why not. You mix something up, put it in the oven and eat it. A good way to enjoy brownies, cakes and cookies.
The easy bake oven has been a favorite for many years. I had so much fun looking in the "girl's section" in the toy store to buy this for our son.
Usually I am stuck looking at action figures or trucks and cars.
There oven was the first purchase, and then you decide on the boxes of cakes and stuff that you want to buy. Some have icing, some have sprinkles. All looked pretty good to me. I must admit I tried to buy the mixes that did not have pink hearts and sparkles all over them.
We made many cakes and brownies together in the easy bake oven. Often when he would have a friend over we would bake.
The easy bake oven is a safe way to introduce baking to your child. Once you put the batter into the pan and add water and stir, you stick it in the oven. You child can look thru the little easy bake oven door and watch his or her creations take shape.
I don't think that the easy bake oven had a long lasting effect on my son. He does not ask to help me when I am baking in the kitchen. He has not problem eating what I have baked though.
