Bar Stools
We love to sit up on bar stools when we go out. It is a fun way to be entertained.
You can watch the bartender mix up drinks and serve them to others sitting on the bar stools. There is always action going on at the bar. People gather around the bar stools even if they are not sitting there. They are waiting for the bartender to make them their drinks.
It can get a little annoying if the bar is really crowded because people are trying to push their way in and leaning over you to get what they want. Or, it can be a great way to have a conversation with someone you might not otherwise talk to.
Bar stools swivel around so you can slide out from under the top of the bar. I like the swivel action. You can move around from side to side and see what is happening in both directions. You can turn all the way around in some and check out what is happening behind you.
We have a big island in our kitchen. It is actually inbetween the kitchen and dining room. We have stools that are just like a bar stool on the dining room side looking into the kitchen. When we have people in to visit, they often sit on the bar stools and hang out while I am doing what ever in the kitchen. It is great way to hang out with friends and still do what needs to be done in the kitchen.
Some bars have bar stools that have no backs on them. Really dumb. I find them so uncomfortable. I would think that you're first priority is to make your customer's comfortable so they will stay awhile. Also, if you have to much to drink and you forget and lean back, you might end up on the floor. That might be entertaining to watch.
