Sofas
Sofa or couch. What is the difference? My family has always said couch, while other families that I know call it a sofa. Perhaps it depends on where you grew up. Maybe sofa is a common term used in England, and couch is more commonly used in North America.
We have all heard the term "couch potato", why not the term sofa potato? Don't sofa users sit on the sofa as often as couch users?
I am sure there are many who spend a longer time on the sofa then others who hang out on their couch.
Whatever way we look at it, sofas and couches do the same thing.
Maybe we should start calling people sofa potatoes just to change things up a little. Hey you sofa potato, get you butt off that sofa and take the dog for a walk.
We didn't raise any couch or sofa potatoes in our family. We are all pretty active people who would rather be doing something athletic and active then sitting for hours on end on the sofa watching TV and eating junk food. That is my idea of what a couch potato does. What is yours?
Sometimes when we go to a doctor's office and we wait in the waiting room, there is a sofa to sit on. I prefer to find a chair to wait on so that I have my own space. I don't feel that comfortable sitting right beside a stranger on the sofa waiting to see the doctor. I like my own space on a chair.
Well sofa potatoes, I'm going to go walk the dog. Don't go anywhere without me.
