Sofa Bed
A sofa bed is a great invention. It works as a sofa to sit on and then easily converts into a bed.
Sofa beds are a great solution when you need an extra bed and don't have one. You can whip it out in 2 seconds flat and provide a bed when needed.Sofa beds are really popular in hotels. They put them in rooms for people who want the space during the day but need another bed at night. In the morning you just put it back together and use the sofa to sit on until you need the bed again.
A sofa bed is not something you want to be moving around in your house to often. They weigh a ton. I guess when you consider the sofa frame which has to be strong enough to support the bed when it is folded up inside of it, and the mattress springs and metal frame and legs, it makes sense that it is so heavy.
Sofa beds are not the most comfortable beds in the world. The mattress is thin and somewhat flimsy. You don't really have the best support because of the way the mattress springs are constructed. I would guess the manufacturers do the best they can given that ultimately it needs to be folded up and fit back into the sofa itself.
Two people can fit on a sofa bed but it would be best to share it with someone you are really fond of because you will definitely be meeting in the middle. One person is fine because they can sleep in the middle of the mattress and not worry about rolling into someone else.
If you have the option of a regular bed or sofa bed in the den, I would opt for the regular bed. You're back will thank you in the morning.
