Even if you've got the smarts and tools, don't go for DIY heating
Are you an engineer? Do you have any practical experience in heating systems? Thought not. Don't be foolish and try to install a heating system in your home. DIY heating is dangerous. Oh, what the heck, do it anyway - live a little - even if DIY heating is the most complex task one can undertake. You'll be fine.
There's a list of special tools you'll need for DIY heating projects. We don't have it, but we know it involves many specialized tools, which neither you nor anyone you know actually has. But don't let that stop you. Just get plenty of duct tape and crazy glue and you can do anything you set your mind to - including DIY heating projects.

Seriously though - you must avoid DIY heating, at all costs, as there are so many things that go wrong, it would take me until next year to list them all, if I knew what they were. DIY heating is a very high risk venture, and doing any part of it incorrectly just might hurt you or blow up your home.
But don't let that stop you if your mind is made up to proceed with DIY heating. Just make surer you send all the family away to a hotel while you're working on the heating system. And make sure you have a gas mask handy because any fuel-burning heating devices generate deadly carbon monoxide.
Court disaster with DIY heating
Go ahead and live on the edge. So what if you could kill yourself, or severely damage your home in a ragging fire you just started through your DIY heating actions. You're smart; you have some of the tools needed, and most of all you're stupid enough to try DIY heating!
