Halloween Mask
Halloween masks can be really funny or really scary. There was this kid on our street when I was growing up and I knew him really well. He was maybe 5 years older then me. He had this Halloween mask that was so scary. Every time he put it on, I would run home. I know that sounds really lame but it's the truth.
It didn't matter if I was beside him and saw him put it on or just see him out on the street, I would freak. It was the face of a man that was just turning a light green, with a big mouth with these ugly gross teeth.
I don't know what it was but I'll bet if I was that mask again it would really bother me. Maybe it resembled something that I saw in a horror movie or something.Halloween masks can really turn the person you know into something else, right before your eyes. Halloween masks are made to be scary, funny, sad, and most of all convincing. If the Halloween mask does its job, you can look at someone you know and question who is behind the mask.
There have been Halloween's where I have been at a costume party and someone who I know really well has come in to the party wearing a Halloween mask, and I am sure I know who they are but can't figure it out. You know the body, the way they walk. their mannerisms, but the costume and Halloween mask is so good, you second guess yourself.
I don't like to wear a Halloween mask. I find it hard to breathe, kind of claustrophobic. It makes you so hot, you are sweating underneath it and trying to keep it up over your eyes so you can see properly.
I can't imagine being an actor or actress in a play or movie where you have to wear this mask the entire time. It would be comes a real pain in the butt I would think. Then again, maybe the money the good actors make would change my mind.
In the mean time, I will stay clear of scary Halloween masks and enjoy Halloween from a distance.
