Halloween Decorations

Halloween decorations are becoming like Christmas decorations. You can buy so many different things to decorate your house with.

The stores have Halloween decorations out in September so that you start buying them as soon as possible.

Some people really get into Halloween decorations. They buy pumpkin shaped or ghost shaped lights for their house. They buy witches with big black capes that they hang in their tree at the front of their house.

One of my favorite Halloween decorations are the door mats that you step on and they make a scary howling noise. Kind of fun for trick or treating when the kids come to the door.

Halloween decorations are fun to make if you have kids. You can cut out Halloween shapes and put them on windows and doors, you can get an old sheet and make a ghost to hang on the front porch.

Streamers hung up in black and orange make good Halloween decorations. Add some balloons and you're all set for a fun Halloween party.

Some people get a little carried away with Halloween decorations. They have their front porch completely covered in cobwebs, hanging characters, lights, and boxes that make spooky noises. It seems a bit tacky and overdone in my opinion. But the kids love it.

Some Halloween decorations can be quite expensive. If you go to a specialty store and look around you will see wooden plaques with words written on them that have to do with Halloween, or a wreath that you can hang on you front door with a Halloween character and some nice fall scenery in the background.

We didn't have Halloween decorations when I was growing up. They just weren't in the stores to buy. We had pumpkins that we carved the afternoon of Halloween night, and put them on the front porch with a candle in them. That was our Halloween decoration. I like the simple life. A couple of pumpkins and your good to go.
