Garden Sheds
A garden shed can be the nicest building on someone's property. I have seen some amazing garden sheds that are nicer then my house.
People take real pride in their sheds. The build them from scratch with big elaborate plans, or buy a kit and put it together.
Gardeners love to organize and fill up their garden shed. The have shelves for all their tools, gardening gloves and gardening shoes. The have hooks strategically placed on the walls for their shovels, hoes and rakes.
Many garden sheds are painted to match the colour of the trim on the house. Often the put a really nice door on their garden shed and have a stone walkway leading out to the garden from the shed door.
I love the flower baskets that people attached to the side or front of their garden shed. Often they change them according to the season. Thanksgiving with fall colours, Christmas with little lights in them, spring pansies as soon as the weather allows, and gorgeous overflowing flowers throughout the summer.
Some people have really plain sheds that are thrown up quickly to replace an old garage. They don't really care if their garden shed is attractive or not. It is there to serve a purpose. To store the junk they have no where else to put.
Garden sheds vary in size. Some are tiny and hold a lawnmower and shovel, others are hugh and could double as guest house. Some have windows in them that give you the impression that it is a guest house.
I think some use them as bunkies up at a cottage. A quick and easy way to have more sleeping room. In the garden shed with bunk beds.
I much prefer a small tastefully done garden shed over a big ugly garage. The only problem is that you won't fit your car in there when the bad weather comes. It all comes down to personal preference and what your needs are I guess.
