Fireplaces
Before I had a fireplace in my home, I often thought that the one thing I was missing in my house was indeed a fireplace. Now that I have a fireplace, I realize that my life is empty, dull and missing far more than fixtures and fittings but I still love my fireplace. When you think that you need a fireplace to complete your life, think again, but do not let that stop you buying a fireplace.
Many people love a nice fireplace to make their otherwise cold, damp, dreary home just that little bit more welcoming. It is for such fireplace devotees that I wrote a short poem. It is entitled "Fireplace, fireplace burning bright".
Fireplace, fireplace burning bright
In the booze filled, hazy night
How I love your orange glow
Especially when it's 10 below.
Warm my feet and warm my back
Warm me as I drink my Jack
Let me sleep beside your heat
Then I'll wake like roasted meat
So fireplace be my one true friend
Fireplace, let your flames ne'er end
Fireplace how I love your power
Now it's time to take a shower
So out you go sweet fireplace light
Thanks for being there last night
I never have a female friend
Or else the night would never end.
And so, dear friends, I can but implore you to buy a fireplace. When you do purchase a fireplace you will never look back and will find it hard to understand how your life was before the installation of your fireplace. Goodnight.
