Fence

Robert Frost once famously uttered that a good fence makes good neighbors. Although his statement is a humorous attempt at mocking our tendency to quarrel with our neighbors, the fact remains that installing a fence is one of the most important aspects of property-ownership. In the vein of Robert Frost's jest, a fence can be a perfect way to separate you from fellow citizens which might intrude on your privacy. Wooden fences are a good, friendly, aesthetic choice to surround your property with-combine this with a wall-climbing plant and the effect of seclusion is absolutely stunning, not to mention very romantic. A picket fence is a classic style of fence and will also help if you have a pet with a tendency to elope in search of neighborhood friends, love interests, or garbage food.

If you have a small vegetable garden, a fence will be absolutely crucial to your operation. It's a great disappointment to spend countless hours gardening, just to see that your produce has been nibbled by invisible beasties scampering around voraciously. Install a small fence around your vegetables, fruits, and herbs to keep out pesky rabbits and other such hungry rodents. Remember the character Rabbit from the hit TV show Winnie the Pooh? Methinks his anger would have been curbed by a properly installed fence in his small victimized garden. If you aren't too worried about privacy or protection, a split-rail fence may be the perfect aesthetic choice for your country or suburban home. If on the other hand your concern is in no way aesthetic and you absolutely need a great amount of protection, you may want to choose a chain-link fence to protect your property from hooligans and other intruders. No matter what, a fence is a beautiful thing-separator, decorative item, and safety measure-and no one should go without one.
