Doors
Doors matter. Among the most important things we consider when judging the quality of a home, is its doors. Light, flimsy, improperly-hung doors are a sure sign of shoddy workmanship and inadequate budget. Quality doors - doors that look and feel great - are a trademark of quality. Don't skimp on your doors.
The front door: is it inviting and elegant? Does the front door fit in with the style of architecture exhibited by the rest of your home? Is it a solid and heavy door, to keep out intruders? Without looking like a prison door?
The patio door: does it invite you out to the garden? Does the patio door give you a commanding view of your back yard, without blocking access?
The garage door: does it look great when closed, and is it an easy door to open?
Interior doors: are they well-hung, allowing easy entry? Do the doors keep noise out and allow for privacy?
Choosing the right doors
Deciding on the right doors is not always easy, but it can be fun. The variety of doors available is truly staggering. Doors come in every conceivable material. Wooden doors, metal doors... there are even plastic doors. Then add in the styling and color options available with doors, and you'll see that your door options are unlimited.
First, determine your budget. Doors can be had very cheap; doors can be astonishingly expensive. But whatever your budget, you'll find many options available in doors. Take the time to explore your options in doors. And shop carefully. Because doors matter.
