Landscape Design
Landscape design is a big business. There is a lot of planning that goes into designing a front or backyard.
Many landscape designers have been to school and studied hard to be the best that they can be.
So many variables go into landscape design. The type of material to be used, what materials you can mix to create the atmosphere you are after. Do you want a casual country look or a more organized urban setting?
Landscape design involves the entire space. It has to consider the size of the space and what is already in it, if anything. Are there trees to work around and/or to take out? Do you want a lot of greenery or do you prefer lots of grass and open space? Stones, wood, grass, flowers, plants, ponds, fountains, decks, patios, bird feeders, lighting. Landscape design could include all of these things and more.
A rugged landscape design might be something to consider for a cottage or ski chalet. Tall grasses, bunches of wild flowers, big rocks placed around the property, a large deck with benches built all around it to relax on.
Landscape design is often the last things to be done once a new house has been built. Often people will have moved into their new home and the front and back lawn looks like a hugh dirt pile. Once the house is ready, the new owners are anxious to move in regardless of the landscape. It wouldn't make sense to stay out of the house because the front and back of your house is not looking so pretty.
