Shag Rugs
For that retro feel in your home, a good rug is the shag rug. Shag rugs were popular many years ago and have recently erupted back into popularity. The primary characteristic of the shag rug is the long and loose pieces of fabric. Shag rugs are, quite simply, shaggy.
Shag rugs are a bit more difficult to clean than other rugs. Particles of food and other things can disappear in the forrest of fabric. Because of this, it is important to occaisionally vacuum your shag rug, even if it doesn't appear to be dirty.
The fabrics can also pick up dirt that will need to be washed out. Make sure you are prepared to wash your shag rug frequently, especially if you shag rug is a lighter color such as white.
