Foam Mattress
A foam mattress is a great extra mattress to have around. If you have an unexpected guest of 2 you can pull out the foam mattress, put the sheet on it and you are all set.
I think a foam mattress is a good solution for a set of bunk beds for young kids. The bunk beds aren't usually built to hold a big thick mattress. When our kids outgrew their bunk beds, we stored their foam mattress underneath their new bed and pulled it out when they had a friend sleep over.
A foam mattress works well at a cottage. If you are tight for space but have a lot of people staying over, you can pull it out and offer some comfort for the night.
I wonder how much support a foam mattress offers. I wouldn't want to be sleeping on it for to long. I don't think it would give you the support a good solid mattress would.
I think the foam mattresses are made for people to take camping. They can roll them up and store them in the basement and pull them out for the camping trip. That would be my kind of camping. I don't really like the ground sheet and sleeping bag option on the cold hard ground.
I wonder if there are good foam mattresses and then really good foam mattresses. Is there the basic or entry level mattress and then the foam mattress fit for a King? Maybe one is thicker then the other or made with more foam pillows that you can sink into.
Whatever the case a foam mattress is good for what they are made to do. I think that would be to let you have a more comfortable sleep then
the bare floor or curled up on the couch.
