Bathroom Tiles
Bathroom tile is fun to pick. There is so much to choose from. There is modern bathroom tile, traditional bathroom tile and I would say basic bathroom tile. Basic meaning a plain white tile.
When you visit a bathroom tile store it can be overwhelming. There are a ton of designs, many sizes of tiles and every price point you could imagine.
I like a fairly simple plain tile that you can count on and then change it up with the colour of towels you choose and the different accessories that you add.
The grout that you put between the bathroom tiles around the shower area is not the easiest to keep clean. If you don't wash them weekly, you will very quickly see soap scum and mildew start to form between the bathroom tiles.
Then you have to spray this heavy duty stuff on the grout and let it sit for a couple of minutes and scrub. Not a fun job and not easy to get everything off.
Bathroom tile can be really slippery when wet. If you have a ceramic bathroom tile it is important to keep the shower curtain tucked in when showering or you may end up on the floor when you step out.
I have a hand painted ceramic bathroom tile on the floor and around the shower. I saw it in the showroom when we went to pick out our tile. It was on the floor in the showroom and I really liked it when I walked in. I don't know if I would have picked it if it wasn't on the floor. If it had just been a couple of tiles on the wall I don't think in would have grabbed my eye. Sometimes you need to see what it will look like on a bigger scale to really appreciate it.
If I was to pick again, I would make sure I bought something that was fairly neutral in colour. That way I would not become sick of it to quickly and could work anything into it.
